Meet the Board: Honey
APA Board Member 2019-2020
Human Resources Generalist | University of Florida College of the Arts
What’s your position/role with the APA?
What brought you to UF?
Luck, really! I happened upon it. The person in my position previously was retiring, and the office was looking for someone to replace him. It was an opportunity to work in my specialty – Human Resources.
What makes you proud to work at UF?
It is literally a pleasure to come to work. I love that UF takes great care of their employees with great benefits, leave allowances, and consistent pay increases. I am proud to be a Gator and to work at UF, and I love the people I get to work for every day. I wouldn’t want to work anywhere else.
Favorite UF tradition or moment?
I am a Gator Football fan, so the Gator Chomp is my favorite tradition. You can go anywhere and it is recognized.
Favorite thing to do in Gainesville?
When it isn’t football season, anything outdoors. We have the best outdoor recreational activities anywhere! Gainesville has great hiking trails, springs, and rivers. I love to do anything outside here including kayaking down one of our crystal clear rivers.
What led to your involvement with the APA?
My boss told me about it and encouraged me to get involved. I have learned through the APA that, working together, we can do anything we put our minds to. I have had the pleasure of getting amazing networking opportunities, participating in a leadership panel with President Fuchs, the ability to show different areas of UF the key events my college puts out there, and much more. This has been an amazing experience for the past two years that I have participated. I hope to stay on board and watch the APA continue to grow. I look forward to being a part of what we will achieve.
