MLK Day of Service – A Day On, Not a Day Off!

December 8, 2015 9:41 am

APA invites you to join UF students, faculty and staff in remembering the legacy of Dr. King by serving the Gainesville community on Monday, January 18th from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. The Center for Leadership and Service offers this opportunity to the UF community so that they may learn about service opportunities in Gainesville, meet new people, experience the community firsthand, and celebrate Dr. King!

  1. You may sign up as a Site Leader – the application deadline is December 7th. Site Leaders have the opportunity to lead their participants in both service and reflection.  Previous experience is not necessary as Site Leaders receive a 2 hour training the week before the event.
  1. Or you may sign up as a Participant – the registration period is open until January 15th but it’s first come, first served so register early while there are still spots available.

The MLK Day of Service is part of a campus-wide celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his commitment to social justice. Information on other UF MLK Celebration events can be found here. Visit the national MLK Celebration website for more information about events being held nationwide.
