Girls’ Night Out:Sharing Secrets about Stroke

August 7, 2015 1:47 pm

Free educational seminar Thursday, June 23, 2016

We have all shared a secret from time to time. This time we want to share our secrets about stroke with the women of our community. A stroke is a brain attack that can happen to anyone at any time, and women are at higher risk than men. It occurs when blood flow to an area of the brain is cut off. When this happens, brain cells are deprived of oxygen and begin to die. When brain cells die during a stroke, abilities controlled by that area of the brain, such as memory and muscle control, are lost.

Stroke is the fifth leading cause of death in the U.S., but it doesn’t have to be. Up to 80% of strokes can be prevented. At this event, sharing secrets can be a lifesaver. Learn the signs, symptoms and treatments for stroke at this girls’ night out dinner seminar.
