APA Day of Service
November 12, 2014 12:00 am
In the spirit of the holiday season, take time to give back by participating in the APA service project. This is a great way to actively support the Gainesville community, while networking with colleagues from across campus.
- Ronald McDonald House “Sweets and Treats”
We will gather at the Ronald McDonald House and prepare sweets and treats at the house for residents.

Don’t forget your donations to benefit the Ronald McDonald House. Ronald McDonald House Holiday Wish List
We are also collecting donations to benefit the Ronald McDonald House. Please bring any donated goods to either the APA programs on November 19 or December 17 or contact Michelle Ocepek to arrange to drop items off at the College of Law (ocepek@law.ufl.edu).
- Wilmot Gardens Restoration Project through the College of Medicine
We will gather at Wilmot Gardens to work in the gardens. They have most of the tools needed for the work we’ll do, but if you have your own gardening gloves or pruners, we encourage you to mark them and bring them with you. Be sure to wear closed toe shoes and clothing you don’t mind getting dirty.
http://wilmot.med.ufl.edu/ - Meals on Wheels through UF Health
Sign up to deliver meals to elderly people in Alachua County from 10:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. on November 19. You can sign up for a shift with up to 4 other people; you can ride with the group or drive. If 4 people sign up and 2 are willing to drive, they will split the route so it won’t take as long as scheduled. We will gather at the Gainesville location and disperse from there. A schedule will be given to you with directions and who you will deliver meals to. In doing so, you will be providing a much needed service in our community and will have the opportunity to visit with each home-bound person.
