College of Fine Arts Announces Name Change to College of the Arts

UF’s College of Fine Arts, which comprises the School of Art and Art History, School of Music and School of Theatre and Dance, as well as UF’s Center for Arts in Medicine, Center for World Arts, Digital Worlds Institute and University Galleries, is pleased to announce that effective May 8, 2014, the college’s name is the College of the Arts. The college has been considering this transition for several years, according to Lucinda Lavelli, dean. Lavelli says the new name is more encompassing of the extensive activities and offerings of the college, such as its vibrant visual and performing arts programs.
