A message from APA President Krista Vaught
APA colleagues and friends,
The APA board held its first strategy meeting of the year yesterday and I am so excited to work with such talented and enthusiastic members of our community. We are working to plan many (virtual) events this semester to touch on diverse interests and areas of campus.
In particular, please save the date for our next Warm Welcome on October 6th, featuring another all-star panel. The event will officially welcome newer staff to the UF community, foster a sense of belonging and community among all staff, offer inspiration from university leaders, and spark connections across departments and units. Seats for our inaugural event in 2019 filled to capacity quickly, and we are excited that this year’s virtual offering will increase accessibility. We will announce more details and registration very soon.
As we find new ways to connect and support staff in the current environment, we invite you to share your voice and contribute toward our growth in 2020-2021. The APA is dedicated to enriching the professional lives of UF staff by fostering an inclusive community through advocacy, education, and recognition. Whether you have a few minutes to share and connect with colleagues, or a specific talent or passion to move our goals forward, we invite you to get involved.
I look forward to connecting with you soon.
As always, Go Gators!
Krista Vaught, J.D., M.Ed.
APA President, 2018-2020
