Cyber Safeguards for UF Data—offered tomorrow

The University of Florida is obligated to protect private data. Failure to protect private data impacts UF liability, reputation, and costs. This introductory course will explain the do's and don'ts of using private data on computers. Attendees will learn when to use encryption. Proper methods for disposal of private data will be taught. You will learn what to do in the event of a private data exposure. Important contacts regarding private data will be presented and technical resources for data protection will be discussed. The course is free, but seating is limited. To self-register, sign-on to myUFL and navigate to My Self Service >> Training & Development. You can then search by date, title, or course number.

Transportation and Parking Services seeking volunteers
Transportation and Parking Services is seeking faculty and staff members to volunteer two hours every two weeks to review parking ticket appeals, suspension appeals and render judgments. I realize there is little spare time for new duties these days, but we would welcome the participation of individuals with a desire to contribute to this program and the University community. I encourage you to forward this invitation to enthusiastic members of your College or Department at all levels for their consideration.

Join the Parking Hearing Authority and review appeals filed by faculty, staff, visitors and in certain circumstances students. If selected this appointment would be for calendar year 2009.
